Kimberly Eber

Director of External Relations

University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, BA

Asked for a little-known fact, Kim shares that she was briefly listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest woman to score a hole in one. Since joining the staff in 2018, her experience, warmth, and intelligence have made her well liked by the Sonoma Academy community.

Kim played golf at UNC Chapel Hill and studied sports broadcasting. She realized partway through that on-camera work wasn't the right path and moved into sports marketing, then spent several years in sales, where she built relationships, earned trust, and learned to tell compelling stories.

Coming from a family of educators, Kim was drawn to education. After informational interviews at Stanford, she became Director of Major Gifts for its athletics department, fundraising for hundreds of student athletes across dozens of sports. As college athletics grew more commercial, she wanted work with a more direct, tangible impact.

Kim looked for a high school that matched her values and was immediately drawn to Sonoma Academy's culture. She says the mutual respect across campus, from the lunch line to the classrooms and administrative offices, sets it apart from any workplace she has known.

Outside of work, Kim is an athlete, a food enthusiast, and a parent of two children.
